Week 10: the bad side of hacking

Other than white hackers, there are still bad hackers in the world. Which may harm other’s privacy or even the society’s safety.

Black hackers, the opposite of white hackers, is a name for the hackers that do bad things on the internet through hacking. There are so many cybercrimes that involve hacking, such as stealing other people’s identity, breaking into other’s network system, creating computer virus and spread it through the internet.

Anonymous took down Tunisian government sites, caused pandemonium in Egyptian administration offices during the January 25th uprising with a flood of faxes, and attacked Libyan state websites, before turning their attention to Nicaraguan and Venezuelan targets after those states’ leaders expressed solidarity with Muammar Qaddafi.

(Fisher, M., Keller, J. 2011)

They even hack into the government’s system and mess with the authority. Their motive may just be revenging, or they may even have no motive, just for fun.

Since every people now have computers or smartphones that can access the internet, the hackers can also easily get to normal people. They are dangerous to our society.

  1. Black hat hackers cause unimaginable harm to people as they go to large extents to achieve their dreadful purposes. We as a society need to come together and defeat against such groups of hackers who intend to steal our personal data and misuse against us. Your blog raises a good point but you could perhaps share your insights as well and how you personally feel about hackers stealing our data. Without doubt, they pose threat to our society and we cant neglect this easily. We need to take action and warn them how severe this could be. Looking forward for more of your work. Good luck.
